Notes on data protection and privacy

This website is privately operated and does not collect any personal data other than what is technically necessary (see the notes on IP addresses below). It uses no cookies, no analytical tools and no advertising pop-ups.
Notes for users of Personal Backup: The same statements apply also if Check for updates is activated on program start or the update check is manually initiated by clicking Help ⇒ Check for update ... in the main menu. In either case, Personal Backup will download only a small text file containing the information about the most recently-available version for comparison with the locally-installed version.
Concerning the processing of users' IP addresses, it fulfills the principles of Art. 5 (1) GDPR. For more details see the the website of my provider goneo Internet GmbH under "Datenschutz" Section 5 (text in German) and refer to the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) Article 6 (1) (f).
The website offers the possibility of voluntary support via the payment service PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg (hereinafter PayPal). When forwarding to PayPal, no personal data of the visitor is collected and forwarded. The transaction is processed exclusively by PayPal.
